This work takes place in modern day Berlin with flashbacks to 1930s nationalism. The religion of the Thule Society led by Helena Hister sets the backdrop for the paranormal interaction of Ghosts, Demons, and revitalized old maniacs. I don’t want to give any more spoilers but rest assured, Nazis enamored of the cult of Thule are responsible for pretty much all of the worlds ills.
I enjoyed the construction of the story though at times the pace felt almost pushed. Editing really does need another pass for misused and missing words if nothing else. There are moments when Helena is monologuing that could be built out to bring the reader a larger understanding of how Vril empowers her goals. This is not my normal genre but I will give it three units of satisfaction.
