My Writing Hero for the month of January is author George Geisinger.  I first met George when I happened across one of his short stories and read it.  It was so beautiful that I commented, and we have been chatting ever since.  I found his writing intriguing, and decided to make him one of my heroes before reading his book.  I’m really glad I did.  I’ve read and reviewed on Amazon, Memoirs Of A Flower Child.  This book had me smiling and crying.  It got me right in the gut, and I read it straight through.  I’ve never read anything like this.  I totally suggest that you buy this book, and read it right away.  It will change your perspective on everything.

I’ve been trying to think of something funny or interesting to share with my friends here. Today I can’t. Often the truths of life should be kept to yourself, and not shared with others. But then again, blogging can mean different things to different folks. Some have very businesslike approaches, others share every aspect of their personal lives, while my favourite blogs to read are a mix of both. I’ve always tended to say pretty much what I feel, and so far, haven’t been shot down in flames for that.

I don’t generally believe in randomness as far as life goes. I’ve always found that there are lessons in every little thing that comes our way. Right now, I’m really struggling to figure out what the lessons could be in some of the things that have happened over the last few weeks. My older friends will know that, apart from…

Novella Review. Yes, I read those too.

Haunted Moon (A Moon coven Series Novella)
by K.B. Miller

This was a nice diversion from what I normally read. The story takes place in Galway Bay in 1947 and centers on a young coming of age witch. The Moon witches have been locked into a centuries long struggle against the vampires of the region.
Though the prominence of names ending in “-een” may confuse the reader from time to time the story moves at an excellent pace and the editing was top notch. This is a quick YA paranormal adventure and I highly recommend it.

Star Hounds:  The Infinite Battle, Galactic Warriors and The Macrocosmic Conflict

This trilogy is right dead in the center of one of my favorite genres, with sub-genre.  It’s sort of a military space opera with techno-thriller, romance, alien interaction and comedy rolled together.  Laura is a hotshot blip-ship pilot who through techno-augmentation can do things no natural human is capable of doing, yet she has some impulse control issues which seem to land her in trouble a lot.  There is a borderline alcoholic pirate captain who is trying to drown hidden demons yet pursue a quest he barely understands for the betterment of the Galaxy.

There is of course an oppressive big brother type government which attempts to capture, torture, do lots of shady things and behave like corporations.  The writing style and format are such that it is not a door stopper and I found it…
