The Park Service

Aubrey is a bullied smart kid living in the community of Hollocene II, safely underground. Everyone is taught in school how the surface world ended itself through biological and Nuclear war. Now life means doing well in you classes so that when you reach fifteen years of age you can take your selection exam which determines which level your will toil away on until you…retire at age thirty five and go to Eden.
Aubrey is very smart and is the first one in memory to actually go up. This is my kind of book so of course there are sinister reasons for this turn of events. You will just have to read and find out.
Some of the editing in this work is off as there are a lot of run on sentences. Put it in word and do a find on the word ‘and’. You will figure it out. This book has receive quite a few ratings so rather than put my two cents back onto amazon I will simple blog it.
I’m giving this four stars for story, three for editing and five for proper length in my opinion. Average will be a four from me. This review is limited in posting due to my suspicions about the number of reviews I saw on Amazon for this title and others in the series.
The Mooncalfe

The Mooncalfe is a novella and the name of the child of Merlin. This story is so short that I don’t want to go into much detail as it might spoil it for you. Quick overview because most of you know the tale. Uther wearing a glamour spun by Merlin poses as Duke Gorlois to gain entry to Tintagel castle and bed the Lady Igraine. Merlin wearing a glamour making himself look like one of the Dukes men…Sir Jordans, gets bored and randy sitting at the feasting table. He uses his wiles to take a serving woman and get her with child. Arthur and Mooncalfe are produced that night. This tale follows the growth to womanhood of Mooncalfe.
Excellent crafting and editing. Four out of five units of gratitude.
The Ellusive “O”

Miss Winters has worked with her partner for a couple of years yet he only picks up on her leanings based on her reaction to a chance comment from her boss, ‘the competition spanked us’ or a variation thereof. He tries a few confirming comments later and they establish they are in to the same thing, bent, hobby…yeah, you get it.
This is a short curious erotica wrapped in spanking orgasms. Enjoy. I give it three out of four.
Trippin Holidays

This is barely a short story but it was somewhat fun. Colleen is uptight by her friends standards which are…quite different. Being naïve she takes things offered by her friend’s boyfriends roommate under the impression they are chocolates. She experiences a wacked out evening and I don’t want to spoil the rest for those who would like to read this.
I’m giving this three out of five stars because the story was crafted and did stay a dark comedy. I gave it three stars instead of four because I do not feel the subject matter is really funny in this day and age as a parent of worried about their kids experimenting or potentially getting hurt. Let’s end this with I give it three stars. Enjoy.
Oblivion’s Forge (Aona)

Aona, the known world is in trouble. Most do not know that trouble is coming but many feel urges or compulsions that they can not explain. Ancient adversaries, the Marandaal and the shadows use humans to exact their revenge and take back the world.
The story is told from multiple points of view. Vornan the kyush user who could have been…Amythyst, the girl from Darkenhelm who left her guild training to adventure…a trained healer who finds she can no longer even offer simple comfort to those that ail…and several more. This is a book you can lose yourself in and still see the main theme.
I’m awarding four out of five units of pleasure. Enjoy this fantasy fiends!
Hellhound(Book One in the Hellhound Series)

Having been victimized by her boyfriend to the point that he flies into a rage, beats her then stabs her Halo Bay retaliates too late to save herself killing him with the same knife. As part of her next existence she becomes one of Satan’s five hellhounds, beings that hunt down escapees from the eternal fire and send them back to hell. These include all manner of demons, vampires, and other monsters. Apparently Halo Bay looks so good in vinyl that even Satan has multiple simultaneous…well read it and you will know what I’m referring to.
This book is hot and not just because of Hell being involved. There are several scenes where you might need a fan and a cold towel to focus. That being said there are the usual editing issues. I will say that they did not distract enough to stop me from thoroughly enjoy the story.
Blah, blah, blah…Mature audience warning. I liked this book and it gets four out of five upward turned appendages.
Ruinland Chronicles Vol. 1

This is really a short story. In being a short story it relied on a large amount of data dump in the start to set the scene. Then it became a story not unlike Harlon Ellison’s I have no mouth and I must scream. The story is well crafted but may have been better suited to a full length novel and that is the main reason I am giving a three out of five satisfaction units. Yes the author can certainly come back and say you should get the sequels. I would return and say I do not turn to reading as my major form of entertainment to sift through a bunch of serialized short stories. If your story is worthy of novel length then make it a novel.
EXOSKELETON

Will Thompson has been convicted of a crime with circumstantially evidence and some potentially bought testimony. His conviction and sentencing makes him a prime candidate to be recruited for…experimentation. All the things that people suspect might happen to a prisoner who becomes a non-entity come to life in this work about a man who endures torture one day at a time because he volunteered.
Very intricate conspiracy is woven into this book and it is well crafted. I especially liked how the author built and portrayed the characters responsible for experimenting on Dr. Thompson Their predilections surface when ever any possible control casts a blind eye. Five different points of view are masterfully employed in the telling of this story.
I’m giving this one the rare five out of five stars, thumbs-up, cupcakes…whatever. I enjoyed and recommend this book with a warning that it is not for children.
Warriors of the Atlantean Empire

Crehon is the ruler of Atlantis and he has received an ultimatum from another island nation. Surrender or be conquered. That’s quite a choice. Atargatis, ruler of the Mer people of Oceania is a friend to Atlantis and chooses to side with them in the coming fight. They both have beautiful mates that they love more than life itself. Both kingdoms will risk all to remain free from the approaching conquest.
Descriptions of the under sea realm are well done, bringing sea dragons to life in the imagination.
This is a story with love, battle, betrayal and some tragedy. It is also excellently written and edited. This gets a four out of four satisfaction units from me. Well done.
