Breathless

Leesa Nyland is leaving sunny San Diego, and her mother who hides from the sun, to attend college in Connecticut. Connecticut, where her mother was bitten and had a trauma when pregnant with Leesa, where her Aunt and Uncle still live and where her brother Bradley mysteriously disappeared during his Sophomore Year leaving an email telling everyone to give up on finding him.
This is definitely a Buffy the Vampire type story in book form. The violence and sex are written in such a manner that any child who reads Harry Potter will not be traumatized by this book. A new type of paranormal character called a ‘Volkaane’ is introduced in here. At least they were new to me. Fun short read but not quite the edginess you would expect from a vampire story these days making it safer for kids.
4 stars if you intended it as a safe read for kids, 3 stars if you intended it as something for an adult audience.
Now for an additional bit. I went to post this on Amazon and this thing has 317 reviews. As of 08DEC14, 317 reviews. Absolute Bull Shit! Obviously you do not need anybody’s help to get the word out when you can afford to pay for it. Big 5 product is difficult enough to get 100 legitimate reviews. I am both astounded and pissed off. This was not that good a book. It wasn’t heinous either.
