Forced Intelligence
by JH Glaze
This is a short story about how a government experiment can malfunction. A drive to elevate lab animals to human perceived sentience goes wrong and the two scientists responsible for that set of experiments have to justify themselves to a court of their victims.
There are weak points such as the name for the animal who is the main scientist’s protector and pulling in environmental issues takes away from the storyline. I’m not saying these aren’t important but the preachy effect brought it down some for me.
I like the story idea and the main theme.
I couldn’t resist commenting. Exceptionally well written!
