I don’t know about all authors but I can state that I really don’t do well with crowds. Starfest was as I have known Starfest to be based on three years of consecutive attendance. That being said I’m considering taking next year completely off or cutting back to a one day attendance. The reason being that even though it might help my presence as an author the economic reality is it costs a lot and you really don’t get much back. Memories of talking with people one on one are my most cherished memories but I will follow that up with the noise level in the Atrium and the dealers room is so high that at times it is down right painful to be there. The programming was pretty stale from my viewpoint and I think I will enjoy MileHiCon better when it comes to that sort of thing.
As a place where you can hang out and hand out promo copies of your books to try and interest potential fans it ranks really high.
I enjoyed Dr. Horrible once more with feeling, with my wife and daughter. I enjoyed gaming with my son on Friday night at the Hilton. Those were excellent memories. I choose to close this installment in my blog with these in mind.
