Night of the Purple Moon (The Toucan Trilogy)
by Scott Cramer
This is a young adult science fiction read that has a lot in common with the Lord of the Flies trope. A comet delivers a microorganism into the Earth’s biosphere that eliminates all exposed adult humans. There was an episode of Star Trek: TOS where the children were the only survivors of a plague that killed anyone who crossed puberty. This first book explored that scenario except these children organized some for the good and some for not so good. Night is a very clean read in that the editing was spot on and has therefore earned my soon to be coveted thumbs up. As the first book in a world now having to start over I think this was an excellent product and I would recommend it to anyone.
